Though eventually returned, it was sold to a private collector and kept in obscurity. Now 28, Akiane is a best-selling author, artist, and philanthropist. She has traveled to over 30 countries teaching art and spreading messages of peace. In 2019, Prince of Peace resurfaced when it was bought for $850,000 by a family who now preserves it. “They feel it is their mission to protect this masterpiece for generations to come,” the report noted.
