Mannequins of Jeff Bezos and fiancée Lauren Sánchez have been seen gliding through Venice in a gondola, ahead of the billionaire Amazon founder’s highly anticipated wedding.
The pair’s three-day wedding celebration has seen hundreds of high-profile guests descend on Venice between 23 and 28 June for the nuptials, which will reportedly take over the whole island of San Giorgio, opposite St Mark’s Square. However, not everyone in the city is happy, with protests planned against the billionaire’s nuptials and the mannequins part of the outcry.
The three-day wedding celebration has received a lot of attention, and there have been protests planned by locals who are angry at the couple for “taking over the city”.

People have come together and protested, forcing Bezos and Sánchez to make a 180 on a location they had planned.
One creative part of the protests has seen mannequins dressed up as Lauren and Jeff, complete with wedding dress and suit, being paraded through the city.

Activists also came together and unveiled a huge banner in St. Mark’s Square, protesting against the wedding. The banner showed an image of Bezos face and the slogan, “If you can rent Venice for your wedding then you can pay more tax.”
Jeff and Lauren are not letting anything get in the way of their big week.
The couple planned to have a huge party at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia on Saturday night, but it has since been moved to another venue in the Arsenale area of the city, according to local media.
Il Gazzettino was changed to it being “tension-filled,” and they had to look for a location that was “easier to control.”

It’s thought that the wedding plans at one point reportedly planned a pajama party in the days leading up to their massive Italian wedding, with two other themed parties in the works.
However plans have been changed, as according to TMZ plans changed. A source told the outlet Monday, “Guests will need clothes, outfits and accessories for a wide range of events.”
Plans are likely to include have a rehearsal dinner, reception and some cocktail parties and that’s not even including the actual wedding.
The star studded guest list is rumoured to include Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand, Ivanka Trump, Orlando Bloom, Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner and Mick Jagger, as well as pop star Katy Perry, who joined Ms Sanchez in the all-female celebrity crew that travelled to space in April.
