Fargo Man Accused of Keying Tesla at West Fargo Costco; Case Referred to Prosecutors
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – A criminal complaint has been forwarded to prosecutors after a Fargo man allegedly vandalized a Tesla Cybertruck in the parking lot of the West Fargo Costco over the weekend.
According to authorities, Ryan Lyle Williams faces a felony charge of criminal mischief. Police say Williams admitted to intentionally keying the high-end electric truck on Saturday.
Thanks to surveillance footage from nearby businesses and the Tesla’s own integrated cameras, investigators were able to quickly identify Williams’ vehicle. The Tesla’s owner, Mitch Benson, posted photos and video of the damage to social media, with the post gaining significant attention—shared more than 1,300 times on Facebook.
Police confirm that the investigation is still ongoing.
